Entry Deadline Ends January 26, 2018
DAFT calls upon student designers to submit artwork for the official festival poster and program of the Michigan Student Film and Video Festival. Now in its 49th year, the Michigan Student Film Festival has a tremendous history. The winning designs will be seen throughout the Michigan Filmmaking community and reach many branches of the national film industry.
To submit an entry, you must be a DAFT Member (even a free Subscriber member) and be logged in to your account.
The Assignment
Create a related trio of designs for
the 2018 Michigan Student Film Festival:
- A Promotional Poster (full color)
- The Festival Program Cover (black and white)
- A blank, Festival Title Slate (black and white)
Eligibility & Prizes
Contest is open to Michigan high school students only.
You must be a DAFT Member - at least Free Subscriber Level
- Creator of the winning design will receive $200 gift card
- Two runner-ups will receive $50 gift cards
Deadline & Details
Submit your design entry by January 26, 2018
- KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL, HIGH RES, LAYERED FILE.
- Your entries must have the necessary information & logos as seen below.
- Your entry submissions must meet the technical specifications below.
- If your design is chosen, you must provide a high-res 300 dpi file of the Program Cover and Poster design.
- Your design becomes the property of DAFT.

- KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL, HIGH RES FILE
- Design Dimensions 11.50" x 17.50" - trimmed to 11"x17" when printed
- Original: Full Color 300dpi
- Entry Upload Format: JPG 72dpi
- If your design is chosen, you must provide: a high-res 300dpi flattened PDF
- Your design becomes the property of DAFT
